The story
On the eleventh or twelfth day, Namakaranam gives the child a name aligned to the birth nakshatra. A name is no small thing — it is a sound the child will hear and answer to thousands of times. Chosen with care and spoken into the ear amid chanting, it becomes a lifelong vibration of blessing.
How it is done
On the 11th–12th day, the nakshatra-aligned name is spoken into the child's ear.
Significance
A name aligned with the child's birth star is given — a sound the child will hear thousands of times, chosen to uplift.
