About this ceremony

Sacred Mantra

Namah Suryaaya Somaaya Mangalaaya Budhaaya cha · Guru Shukra Shanibhyascha Raahave Ketave Namah

What it feels like

Nine fires, nine planets, nine living forces of your destiny — each honoured in turn with its own grain, colour and mantra. To sit before the Navagraha Homa is to feel the great clock of the cosmos being gently re-set in your favour.

What happens inside the Navagraha Homa

Performed in the authentic VDS Vaidic paddhati — Sankalpa, Ganapati Puja, Kalasha Sthapana, Punyahavachanam, the consecration of Agni, the deity's offerings, and the final Purnahuti.

  1. 1

    Sankalpa

Intention set with the person's birth details and the doshas to be addressed.

  2. 2

    Navagraha sthapana

The nine planets are invoked in their grid, each with its colour, grain and direction.

  3. 3

    Graha mantras & homa

Each planet is offered its specific samidha (wood) and mantra into the fire in the proper order.

  4. 4

    Shanti Patha

Peace invocations are chanted to settle the planetary influences harmoniously.

  5. 5

    Purnahuti & Aarti

The final offering completes the homa.

Significance

In Vedic astrology, the planets are not distant bodies but living energies that shape our experience. When a planet is afflicted in the horoscope or running a difficult dasha, the Navagraha Homa restores balance — softening the hard lessons and opening the way to ease, health and success.

Benefits

  • Reduces malefic planetary effects
  • Strengthens beneficial planetary influences
  • Relief during difficult dashas and transits
  • Brings balance, health and good fortune

Best time to perform

During difficult planetary periods, or annually for balance.
